Lounge Plan
I feel the lounge should be quite contrasted to the well used corridors so I will be going for lighter colors along with wood paneling and plants to create the sort of leisure area someone in the 1920s could Imagine a space ship having.

Selected part of the novel - Chapter 6
I have decided the way I will present the environment and story contained within it, will be through the eyes of an overly nosy deck hand who is listening to audio logs he really has no right to do so with. This will mean the story events told by the novel will have already passed and will be told through audio logs which will be discovered and followed telling the unfolding story of events passed. I have decided to use one particular snippet in which the main protagonist is in the Chart room Interrogating one of the crew and is then called to the Forward watch tower as an asteroid is incoming. I will try to accurately recreate this snippet of the Planetera while also providing story elements through audio logs and related props left by the main characters.

Planatera 3D
I feel in order to have a good grasp of how to develop the internals of the ship I need a good understanding of how it looks on the outside. This simple 3D concept really helped me with this.

Planetera Layout - True to Novel
So I have a way of knowing how I will lay out my environment I have created this rough concept of the layout of Planetera just so I can tell accurately where to place rooms and decorations. This sketch is as close to the size of the ship as is described in the novel, including various compartments and rooms the ship is supposed to feature.

Fallout New Vegas Environment Design
The Fallout franchise is one which uses a Retro Futuristic aesthetic very well. Although my intended piece will be from a less destroyed world it is interesting to see how old architecture and furnishings are blended with advanced technology's.

Retro-Futurism
In my research it seems the kind of style I most want to capture is that of Retro Futurism it is a movement which tries to emulate what was once considered by those of the past to be the vision of the future. This style would be most fitting to Brigands of the Moon.

Style Mood Board - Low Poly
Ive always loved the look of Low Poly 3D work and have realized this project is the perfect place to work with it as Im already calling back to the aesthetics of the 1920s I can also use a style which call back to a time of more basic graphical fidelity in video games.
